PROMOTERS: If you are interested in booking shows at Roboto, you must be a member. Roboto then charges members either $50 or 25% of the door, whichever is greater, to rent the space for an evening. We tend to book months in advance, so try to request dates as soon as possible. For all the information you will need on booking a show at roboto, please see our newly revised promoters packet. Feel free to email info or booking to get more information. We’re glad to help you out. We want your show to do well. The phone number is mostly for day-of-the-show type things. Messages may not get listened to for a couple days, or may get deleted unintentionally. Please either email or send a letter. BANDS: Interested in having your band play Roboto? Well, so are a lot of other bands. It is not unusual for us to get 30-40 requests in a week from bands hoping to play here. So please realize that it may be difficult to get a show here. Also, since we are all volunteers doing this in our spare time, it is not possible for us to personally respond to each request. With that said, if you are interested in playing Roboto, please email booking@therobotoproject.orgwith the date(s) you want to play, a brief description of your band, and a link to some mp3s or myspace page so that would be bookers can hear your band. If you don’t have any music on-line, please try to give an accurate description of your band. If you really want to, you can mail a request and cd, cd-r, 7”, tape, dvd or laserdisc to us (the address is below). Please do not send us glossy photos, fancy presskits or other unnecessary garbage. If you feel the need to send out glossy promo pictures and information about your soundscan numbers, we may not be the right venue for you. The phone number is mostly day-of-the-show type things. Don’t leave a message asking if we can book your band. Please email or send a letter. Some helpful things to remember: Roboto does not have a central-booking agent. All shows are booked by individual members. Therefore, we cannot guarantee anyone a show. We will however pass your tape/CD/record and information to members that we think would be interested in helping you out. Specify a date or several dates that you would be interested in playing. Once again, this doesn't guarantee you a show, but may increase your chances. We tend to schedule several months in advance (especially during the summer months). Thus, if you are looking for a specific date or time period, try to contact us at least two months ahead of time. The Mr. Roboto Project reserves the right to refuse any performer or promoter a show based on the message or content of the material to be performed (i.e. no racist, sexist or homophobic material).
