Roboto Monthly Meeting - Minutes for the 1/23/03
Meeting
(1) Introduction
(2) Old Business, see Nov. meeting minutes
(3) New Business
Finances (Q)
- Balance: $3055
- As the renovations are completed, we are done with major purchases for the
time being.
- We will be sending out our information to the accountant for our taxes
shortly.
- The only foreseeable costs for the next month are the purchase of paint for
painting and a steel gate for steel gating (the front door, like the old days).
Facilities (Jen)
- Roboto has been having toilet problems. These problems are most likely
caused from various .sediment. build ups in the pipes. That.s right folks,
we.re talking brown matter. For the time being (until caustic chemicals or
plumbers plumbing do the job) please do the number two next door at the Multi-
Tool Space aka Big Idea/Free Ride/etc.
- Painting of the space walls will be going on Sunday Feb. 9th. No time yet,
but we.ll keep you posted.
- Talk of lighting up Roboto. Jen will try contacting Jeremy Boyle to see if
he.s still interested in helping us figure out our wiring situation. Jeremy,
if you.re out there, let us know.
- Jen is going to start cleaning up the stage area of Roboto. We.re trying to
decide how to use this space, so any ideas.let us know.
Booking (Jeremy Carson)
- If you.re thinking about booking shows in the next few months, dates are
already filling up for March, April, May and even June! Start planning ahead
so you don.t get left in the dust!
PR/Secretary (Jeremy Hedges)
- The board has discussed changing the way in which renewals work. From now
on, renewals will occur four times a year. People whose renewals expire or
anyone who becomes a new member between Jan. 1 and March 31 now renew at the
end of March. For April through June, this occurs at the end of June. For
July through September, this occurs at the end of September. And October
through December, this occurs at the end of December. This way there will be a
mass email sent out at the end of each three-month period, making things easier
for us. We.re also allowing people who haven.t renewed in the past year to two
years to pay the ten-dollar renewal only to get caught up. Otherwise please
let us know if you wish to be marked as .inactive..
- In addition to the above implementation, we.re going to be updating member
information as people come to Roboto events. At shows during February and
March, members should make sure they check the information we have for them so
we can update our files. The board member at each show will have a list and
ask for you to check your info. We appreciate your cooperation.
- Jeremy will be creating a Mr. Roboto Project information pamphlet for
touring bands and event attendees to get a better idea about how Roboto
operates. If you have any ideas or wish to help, contact us at
info@therobotoproject.org.
(3) Open Forum
- The speakers have yet to be mounted on the walls. We will be doing this
sometime soon.
- We.ve discussed some ideas for updating the Roboto website. First and
foremost, we will be editing and fixing out-of-date information. We would like
to also implement a section on the front page that keeps people up to date on
upcoming events, news, and other important information. We also discussed
moving ahead with the photo gallery. If you have photography to contribute
from past Roboto shows, please contact us. If you have additional ideas (aside
from removing the messageboard) on how we can improve our site, let us know.
- The board positions for Finances/Treasurer (currently Q.s position) and
PR/Secretary (Jeremy Hedges) will be ending their terms at the end of March.
The Booking board position (Jeremy Carson) will be ending at the end of April.
If you.re interested in running for these positions, start thinking about it.
Next monthly meeting will be held February 13th at 7:00 P.M.
