(1) Introduction
(2) For Old Business, see minutes from the June meeting
(3) New Business
PR/Secretary (Jeremy Hedges)
- Elections for Eileen.s position on the Board of Directors as Facilities manager will be held beginning Aug. 6th (the August monthly meeting). Nominations will be accepted up until that time. Persons running for the position have the opportunity to speak at the meeting on Aug. 6th. The voting can be made in person to any board member at a show, or via email to info@therobotoproject.org.
- Email list gets one and a half thumbs up. A number of people have been accidentally removed from the list. If you.re no longer on the list, please email info@therobotoproject.org to be added again.
Facilities (Eric and Eileen)
- The fly problem in the basement restroom has been remedied. Hooray!
- Jeremy Boyle (yes, that.s right, he was in Joan of Arc) will be checking out the situation with our electric wiring.
- We.re looking for someone capable of fixing the door. Our landlord will provide the glass but the problem will be fixed much sooner if we go DIY on this project. If you or anyone you know can help, please talk to us.
- The landlord fixed the infamous Roboto watering hole in the left corner of the upstairs area of Roboto.
- The stool beneath the coffee bar in the upper area of Roboto should not be moved. This fine piece of antique furniture is the single support holding up the coffee bar.
Finances (Q)
- The budget at the time of the meeting was $3610.
- Roboto.s taxes are finally done.
- The lease we signed for two years is coming to an end. We will need to decide how long we would like to sign the lease for.
Booking (Jeremy Carson)
- Jeremy was unable to attend this month.s meeting.
(4) Open Forum
- The issue of Roboto creating a community scholarship was brought up again at this meeting. After some discussion, the idea of finding a legitimate scholarship that already exists seemed to be the best course to follow. The chamber of commerce will be contacted to find out about any potential scholarships.
- The open house will be happening on August 3rd at the Mr. Roboto Project, from 2-6 PM. Flyers have been created and passed around to local businesses. Free refreshments will be served and anyone is invited to stop by.
- The clause regarding the discounted benefit show was finalized and put to vote beginning on July 23rd and continuing till July 30th. Please vote on this by contacting info@therobotoproject.org.
- We reviewed the revised membership packet and several suggestions were made. Copies of the new membership packet are available at Roboto. The new promoters packet was also reviewed by members present at the meeting and will be available soon.
- We discussed the Punk Picnic which is typically held in September in Schenley park. The date for this event has not yet been decided. Further discussion will occur at the next meeting.
- Rob brought up the idea of creating a .community space. for the windows outside of Roboto. While Roboto already has a space for .local events,. several people felt that neighbors might feel more comfortable putting up flyers/announcements in an area designated specifically for that purpose. This possibility will be discussed further at the next meeting.
The August monthly meeting will be held on August 6th at 7PM at the Mr. Roboto Project
