Roboto Monthly Meeting - Minutes for the 10/09/02 Meeting

(1) Introduction

(2) Old Busines, see Sept. meeting minutes.

(3) New Business

PR/Secretary (Jeremy Hedges)
- Renewals. Contact info@therobotoproject.org to renew.

Finances (Q)
- Current balance: $3775.45
- We have approximate prices on rennovation costs (taking place between Christmas and New Years):
~ $400 for plywood, $200 for carpet = approx. $700 for the floor
~ Painting the walls may occur if time allows.
- Two larger bills have been paid in the past month.
Our yearly payment of $350 for insurance was paid. Replacement/new sound equipment, including parts for microphones, cables, and stands cost $200.
Booking (Jeremy Carson) - Due to several promoters booking a number of shows per month, Jeremy asked if we should perhaps put a limit on the number of shows each promoter can do per month. Dates have been reserved months in advance without any indications of scheduled bands. We decided upon a 2 week buffer for cancelling reserved dates, in order to open up dates without scheduled events.
- Jeremy now has access to the yahoo promoters list. If anyone is interested in receiving information on bands touring that have contacted Roboto directly, you can email Jeremy at booking@therobotoproject.org to be added.

Facilities (Eric and Dave)
- The vacuum cleaner is fixed, care of Vacuum Wurld. Damn those bass strings and their heathen chemistry!
- Eric brought up contacting the borough and finding out if we can get benches in front of Roboto.
- Eric will be resigning from his position in December due to his departure for grad school at Slippery Rock. Hooray for Eric! Elections will be held in December.
(4) Open Forum

- The expansion of Roboto's sound system was discussed. We talked about possibly mounting the speakers to the left and right of the "stage" area, as well as purchasing a new mixer.
- Deanna proposed purchasing a voice mail system for the combined Wood st. spaces.
- Roboto has decided to participate in the Wilkinsburg holiday parade on Nov. 23rd. We decided to make a donation of $50 and have a part in the actual parade. There may be some sort of celebration at Roboto afterwards.
- There will be a meeting concerning the space next door to Roboto (aka, the Big Idea/Free Ride/practice space) on the 17th at 9:00 PM.
